If you find yourself in need of beach going equipment not to worry our Beach Activities Desks at Sheraton Kauai Resort and Grand Hyatt Resort in Poipu offer full selection of beach equipment for rent including:
- Snorkeling Gear
- Beach chairs & Umbrellas
- Beach Coolers

- And Much Much More!
Please call our Reservations Line at 808.742.5280 and our team can help get these reserved for you to pick-up! Beaches and the waters that reach them can sometimes have underlying and dangerous rip currents.
So though some of these beaches are great to relax on we ONLY recommend swimming and snorkeling at life guarded Beaches. In addition, before heading out to those beaches, please check the Kauai Beach Report link for each beach.
Kekaha Beach
✚ Lifeguard PresentFantastic beach for sunsets! Very secluded, so pack your picnic and blankets and plan to make an afternoon of it. Miles and miles of soft sand to enjoy walking up and down the beach.
Can be windy at times, and have big waves, but when conditions are right you won’t find a lot of rocks
or reef so great for ocean swim and usually no crowds.
Salt Pond Beach Park
✚ Lifeguard PresentAwesome beach with wide pocket of white sand. Children and parents can relax without a lot of fuss and plenty to do to make the day fly. Great tide pool and underwater exploration to see many colorful reef fish.
If it’s raining on the North or East, head West! It’s almost always sunny here and you’ll appreciate the breeze from the Tradewinds. Another amazing sunset place to pack your picnic and enjoy.
Polihale Beach
This is the longest stretch of beach in the entire state! Also a State Park, it’s located at the very end of the road and only accessed down an unpaved road. (Follow all restrictions with those rental cars). This beach offers 17 miles of white sand and sand dunes butting right up against the beginning the gem of the Island, the Napali Coast.
This beach is HOT and not a lot of shade so don’t forget protection and lots of drinking water to stay hydrated. Strong currents and big waves is NOT RECOMMENDED for swimming, but the sunsets are amazing!
